They’re sweet, tangy, caramelized, and crunchy on the outside. For a more composed side dish, combine them with walnuts, parsley, and bursty pomegranates, but they’re as delicious hot off the baking pan.

    One of our favorite ways to cook Brussels sprouts is with balsamic vinegar! In the oven, they become soft and caramelized, and the vinegar and honey create a delightful sweet and tangy taste.

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts
    • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
    • 1½ tbsp. balsamic vinegar
    • 2 tsp honey (or maple syrup)
    • ½ teaspoon of sea salt
    • black pepper, freshly ground
    • ⅓ cup pecan halves, toasted
    • 2 tbsp dried cranberries/pomegranate arils
    • Garnish with fresh parsley leaves

    1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    4. Toss the salad with the pecans and cranberries in a serving dish. Serve garnished with parsley.

    Balsamic roasted Brussels sprouts are an excellent side dish for any autumn or winter supper since they are so easy to prepare. On a weekday, serve them with a fast pasta like Fettuccine Alfredo or Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, or combine them with Creamy Mushroom Polenta on the weekend when you have more time to prepare.

    I also like serving this dish during holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. It goes well with mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mac & cheese, and other staples.
